Dr. James Ma is from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto in 1992. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University in 1996 and completed a general practice residency at the University of Rochester in New York. He provides general family dentistry services at APEX Dental Care and is also a provider of minor orthodontics with the Invisalign® system.
Dr. Chow grew up in Vancouver, B.C. and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia. After she completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia in 2000, she attended a private practice in Richmond, B.C. In 2005, Dr. Chow relocated to Washington state where she now lives with her husband and two young children. When she is not working at the practice, Dr. Chow enjoys traveling, cooking, drawing, and hiking.
Dr. Yu is from Seattle, Washington. He graduated from the University of Chicago with a B. A. in Biological Sciences in 2006. He then attended the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC in Los Angeles, CA and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2011 and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Wilson-Jennings-Bloomfield UCLA Venice Dental Center. Dr. Yu returned to Washington with his wife and son. Dr. Yu is additionally an affiliate faculty at the University of Washington Dental School and also helps co-lead dental missions trips with dentists and dental students to Central America each year. When not working at the practice, Dr. Yu enjoys teaching, cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Chen grew up in Brooklyn, New York and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at Cornell University. After attaining his Doctor of Dental of Surgery at Columbia University, he completed a General Practice Residency at the Loma Linda VA Medical Center in California. He has subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Washington Foster School of Business. Dr. Chen has had extensive experience in private practice, as a residency and externship mentor, as a clinical director in both community and corporate settings, and as a clinical consultant. He has worked with cross-functional teams to improve the health of populations. Dr. Chen, his wife, and two children have been residents of Western Washington since 2002.
